Khalwale Recalls Last Moments With Wife Before Her Demise [VIDEO]

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale's wife Adelaide Shikanga died in his hands, he intimated on Saturday, October 5, hours after her demise.

His day, he stated, started as it does every morning.

He tweeted about his plan for the day, stating that he would be in Shavoni, Malava, unaware of what exactly was awaiting him.

He alleged that the house help jolted him from his morning activities with the information that Adelaide had collapsed in the bathroom, barely 14 minutes after Khalwale's tweet.

Speaking to the Daily Nation, Khalwale stated that he had tried all the techniques he had mastered over the years, but she fell unconscious, never to wake again.

"She gasped her last breath in my hands during the resuscitation process," Khalwale was quoted.

He stated that she had been in perfect health the day before, engaging relatives and friends who had paid her a visit, and it came as a shock to him to see her breathe her last.

What shocked him also, he stated, was the fact that she had been given a clean bill of health from cervical cancer, which Khalwale claimed she had been suffering from since 2003.

"This week, we went to the cancer center, did profiles of the bone marrow and blood and confirmed that cancer had been cured by the chemotherapy. Then, two days ago, she developed pulmonary hypertension and for only two days that she had taken drugs she stopped breathing," Khalwale addressed the nation on KTN.

He reminisced on the 39 years that they have been together, stating that she had been a pillar of strength not only to him but to the entire family.

"Together, we have built from zero to where we are today. We have built our family, our education and our wealth. She supported me and encouraged me during the worst times when I thought I could not wake up again," he reminisced.
