Murkomen Ridicules ODM MPs' Radical IEBC Plan

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday, September 8, launched an attack on ODM MPs after their radical announcement to storm the IEBC offices over fresh electoral register grievances.

In a tweet posted on his page on Tuesday, October 8, Murkomen mocked the ODM members, urging them to suspend their plans to match to the offices and instead enlist Raila's help.

"Bro under the handshake Baba [Odinga] can address your concerns quietly. Just talk to him. Wachana na IEBC!" he wrote.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Murkomen MPs told ODM members to look for help from him instead of taking to the roads with their problems.

He further called them out for being in a panic mode despite claims that Kibera was 'Raila's bedroom', and announced that indeed the Jubilee candidate was on his way to victory.

"The bedroom is smoky. Long live the hustlers!" he wrote.

The ODM party demanded that the IEBC issues them with an updated voter register set to be used in the Kibra by-election scheduled for November 7.

This, they claimed, was because rumors doing rounds stated that the electoral commission was planning to alter the Kibra voters' register in favor of Jubilee candidate Mcdonald Mariga.

On Tuesday, October 8, during the press conference, Suna East MP, Junet Mohammed, confirmed that they had reached out to IEBC to solve the matter, only to be shut down by the Wafula Chebukati-led commission.

"ODM has written to IEBC more than four times requesting for the updated voter's register but the commission has remained mum. Our supporters expect vigilance on our part even as they wait to do their duty at the ballot and it is for this reason that we want to notify the IEBC that we shall be marching to their offices tomorrow at 9.am in the morning," Junet Mohammed stated.

Mohammed stated that the subject of the march was to seek answers on four key demands that were yet to be addressed.

Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and other ODM legislators when they announced their plans to march to the IEBC offices. They announced that they plan to storm the offices to be furnished with the list of voters set to participate in the Kibra by-elections on November 7.

They also called upon IEBC to furnish them with a full list of all persons registered as voters in Kibra Constituency before and after the 2017 General Election and the dates and centers of registration.
