Ruto's Allies Hold Prayer for Kipchoge ahead of Record-Breaking Race

Inua mama faction associated with the Deputy President William Ruto held a prayer moment for marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge.

The women who were in Nyandarua and Nakuru counties on Friday with the elite athlete the best of luck in the upcoming challenge.

"We pray that Kipchoge returns home with a victory, and on that note, I call our bishop to lead us in prayer for the athlete," the emcee announced.

 

During the prayer, the women held hands as a  sign of unity with the athlete in his quest to shatter the world record.

The prayers were held at the Olkalau stadium in Nyandarua county.

Kipchoge landed in Vienna on October 8 aboard a private jet provided by British billionaire Sir Tom Ratcliffe

Kipchoge, 34, has been rehearsing for the upcoming 42-kilometre marathon challenge dubbed the INEOS 1:59 Challenge, in which he will try to break the 2-hour record time.

This will be Kipchoge's second attempt at the challenge. 

Kipchoge was only 26 seconds shy of breaking the 2-hour world record in 2017 back in Italy and expressed optimism in the upcoming challenge. 

DP ruto is among the leaders who travelled to austria to support he athlete in his quest.
