Khalwale Rebuked Over Unsavoury Remarks on Raila

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was on the receiving end of attacks from Kenyans, making remarks about ODM leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

Khalwale took to social media on Tuesday, October 22, to a chronology of Mashujaa Day events, in which he alleged that Odinga and Joho were snubbed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto on Mashujaa Day.

Netizens called Khalwale out for rumours, alleging that he was a propagandist.

"It is fairly suggestive if indeed these catalogue of events on the Mashujaa Day in Mombasa transpired," Khalwale tweeted.

In the catalogue, the screenshot posted by the DP's ally alleged that Odinga was denied access to State House Mombasa on Saturday, October 19, where Kenyatta was meeting military commanders. Odinga was allegedly directed to visit Kenyatta on Mashujaa Day morning.

According to the former senator, at around 7.20am on Sunday, October 20, Odinga, Joho and Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi arrived at State House and were served breakfast, to which Odinga asked his allies not to partake until Kenyatta joined them.

Khalwale claimed the ODM brigade was kept waiting until 9.30am, when they learnt that the DP had arrived on a Kenya Airforce Plane. The DP allegedly proceeded to meet Kenyatta in a closed-door meeting.

The self-proclaimed bull fighter further reported that after failing to secure a meeting with the president, Odinga and his allies then headed to Mama Ngina Waterfront to celebrate Mashujaa Day. Ruto and Kenyatta later followed. At the event. In the politicians' order of events, Odinga was snubbed on the list of speakers which prompted Joho to break protocol and invite Odinga to address the nation.

Joho and Odinga went on to speak about BBI as Ruto and Uhuru distanced themselves from the topic. Kenyatta's move allegedly irked Joho and Odinga who skipped a luncheon with the Jubilee leaders, resorting to dining at Joho's home.

ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale was among the first to condemn Khalwale.

"I can't stop laughing at how idle you are," Etale reacted.

"I heard that nowadays you are a farm boy at the DP's Sugoi home. Interesting times," Gideon Kitheka Jnr lashed back.
