Ruto's Savage Response to Uhuru-Allied MPs Seeking His Resignation

Deputy President William Ruto savagely hit back at legislators aligned to the handshake, who dared him to quit for allegedly undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On Thursday, November 14, Ruto took to Twitter and tagged a screenshot of The Standard newspaper that had a cover story of the politicians blazing their guns at Ruto.

A report by The Standard indicated that more than 25 MPs drawn from Jubilee, ODM and KANU called for a press conference and asked Ruto to confront Kenyatta if he had problems, rather than picking battles with the head of state's appointees.

The legislators were responding to Ruto-allied politicians who on Wednesday, November 13, alleged that Raila Odinga met Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and his PS Karanja Kibicho in Karen on the eve of the fierce Kibra by-election.

Among the MPs at the press conference were Tiaty MP William KamketBen Momanyi (Borabu), George Aladwa (Makadara), Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town) and Gathoni wa Muchomba (Kiambu Woman Representative).

They further claimed that the move by Ruto's team was a masterplan to discredit Kenyatta's leadership. The handshake team asked the DP to be courageous enough and quit.

In his response, Ruto declared, "Waheshimiwa (Honourables) the real saboteur is your master, the people's conman (Raila Odinga) who uses deceit to divide and destroy parties, even Kenyatta's Jubilee," Ruto launched an attack on Odinga.

"He is the master of chaos who factors violence in election equations. The one who never accepts defeat. We'll stand with Kenyatta and Jubilee against such dictators," Ruto added, with more painful shots at his political rival, Odinga.

The rivalry between Ruto's and Odinga's teams escalated after the fiercely contested Kibra by-election on Sunday, November 3.

Ruto allied MPs alleged that ODM politicians orchestrated an attack on Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa and former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale
