Murkomen Sends Bold Threat to Uhuru

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen threatened President Uhuru Kenyatta that he would shoot down the BBI report in the Senate, unless ODM leader Raila Odinga openly denounced violence.

Murkomen spoke during a church fundraiser at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Eldama-Ravine, Baringo county, on Sunday, November 10, 2019.

In his bitter rant, Murkomen alleged to be speaking on behalf of Jubilee leaders.

"We want to insist that we, Jubilee leaders, will not endorse anything of [sic] BBI until Raila Odinga renounces violence and confesses his sins.

"As the majority leader in the Senate, I will not table anything of [sic] BBI and handshake until the principal partner of the handshake asks for forgiveness," Murkomen boldly declared.

The Senator was referring to the contentious Kibra by-election on Thursday, November 7, which saw Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa and former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale attacked by area residents.

Reports alleged that ODM's Secretary General Edwin Sifuna was behind the attacks, which escalated the war between Ruto and Odinga.

"I, as a Jubilee leader declare that we will not accept violence to continue in our country.

"However, we will not revenge, even if we are stoned. We will not accept that line of conmanship," Murkomen proclaimed.

During the event, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi also hurled insults at Odinga.
