Betty Kyalo Mourns K24 Journalist With Glowing Tribute

K24 anchor Betty Kyalo posted an emotional tribute for the head of news directors, Daniel Chemjor, stating that the two were very fond of each other and met while working at KTN

Chemjor died after being involved in a horrific accident in Baringo County on, on Thursday, November 21, while travelling to see his newborn child. 

"I've lost a friend. Rest well Chemjor. Thank you for believing in me since I was an intern in 2010 and doing your job impeccably. An amazing news director you were," Betty Kyalo tweeted.

Mediamax Network chief operations officer Ken Ngaruiya also led the media house in mourning their colleague. 

In his condolence message, Ngaruiya heaped praises on the journalist who had served at the broadcaster for seven years. 

"I was deeply saddened to learn of Daniel’s death and I would like to express my sincere sympathy to the family, colleagues and friends on behalf of the senior management here at Mediamax.

"Daniel Chemjor was highly respected by managers and employees alike throughout the entire company. He was regarded as a dedicated worker by everyone who worked with him," Ngaruiya stated.

He went on to laud him for his 7 years of dedication and selfless service.

"Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. I am well aware of the difference he made in the lives of many people, both here and in the company and his private life. Many will miss him.

"Each of us not only grieves at the passing of Chemjor, who was with no doubt a tremendous individual but also for the loss his family has suffered. May he rest in eternal peace," Ngaruiya added. 

Peter Opondo, Group Head of TV and Digital recalled how Chemjor was an outgoing person and was revered by his colleagues.

"I have known Chemjor since way back in 2004 when we worked together at KTN. By then he used to produce a business show. I have watched him grow and progress over the years to his latest role where he was the head of news directors at Mediamax, and specifically K24.

"He was such a humble, affable and dedicated team member whose contribution shall be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his young family, especially his widow who gave birth to their last-born child just a few weeks ago," Opondo mourned.
