Kalonzo Finally Apologises to Uhuru For 2013 Outburst

Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka on Wednesday, November 27, apologised to President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Bomas of Kenya where the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report was being officially presented to the public.

Kalonzo took the opportunity to seek forgiveness from President Kenyatta over remarks he made after both the 2013 and 2017 general elections.

“I am seeking forgiveness because this is the beginning of a new country. Your excellency for all the wrong things I said to you I am sorry,” Kalonzo said to President Kenyatta who happily applauded the former vice president.

Kalonzo went further to explain to the packed Bomas of Kenya that his judgement was clouded by anger at the time of making the comments. He conceded that he felt he had been even angrier than Raila Odinga who was the presidential candidate in the two elections.

“You know...I once said in Jamhuri Park...and I was very angry. And I wanted to be Biblical. I was quoting a famous human rights' crusader in the United States when he said, 'every valley shall come down, every mountain shall come down'. People concluded that I was talking about Mount Kenya coming down,” a solemn Kalonzo explained.

The Wiper party leader advised the politicians gathered to respect the dignitaries in attendance and avoid inflammatory comments.

He was referring to Murkomen’s earlier comments that had prompted boos from the audience, threatening to disrupt the whole event.

Kalonzo also applauded Raila and President Kenyatta for putting aside their differences to unite the country.  He noted that what they did was exemplary and could be emulated by other countries.

Countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) and South Sudan that have been facing crisis after polarizing elections.

“I told them we have something exportable from Kenya. Don’t hate your brother. I think they listened to me - President Felix and Kabila - I am still trying to do the same for Juba,” the Wiper leader revealed.

He finished his speech by urging all Kenyans to read BBI report for themselves rather than rely on politicians.
