Citizen TV’s Maria Show Gave Actor Breakthrough After 11 Years

Ronald Ndubi, the actor who plays Victor Hausa on Citizen TV’s show Maria did not have an easy path to the success he enjoys currently.

The actor, like many of his peers, had to go to many auditions before he could get a breakthrough in the industry.

“11 years I've been praying, believing and trusting God to be a successful actor. Since 2008, I have gone to over 1,000 auditions, this is my breakthrough,” he posted on Facebook in December 2019.

Grateful for the opportunity he got, Ronald wrote, “God answers prayers. Keep believing. I'm grateful to Jiffy Pictures, Maria series and Citizen TV.”

Ronald credited his late grandmother who passed on in December for supporting him in his quest to be an actor.

“She prophesied that I'd be on TV way back in high school. We both thought that I'd be a journalist since I had no desire nor intention of being an actor.

“You provided me with transport for my auditions, food home but above all, love,” he revealed in a post on his Facebook post.

He regretted why she died just when his career was just picking up.

"You had barely tasted the fruits of our labour. I had plans for you, to say thank you, to bless you. I'm so bitter and I feel cheated,” he lamented.

Ronald has worked as a commercial model, actor and writer in the past.

He has worked on several local productions including The Bachelor in 2016, as well as Black Matrix.
