Hussein Mohamed Hints at Comeback

Former Citizen TV anchor and Hussein Mohamed has subtly thrown hints on his return.

Mohammed, in a post on his social media pages on Friday, December 20, indicated that he would make a comeback.

His signal was triggered by media reports on December 20, that he had been awarded as a Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"I’m humbled and honoured to receive the award of the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear. Thank you, President Uhuru Kenyatta. Indeed, serving the nation is the true calling. To the nation that I served and will serve, thank you for the support. Again, see you soon," he wrote.

News items continue to flood Mohammed's social media accounts despite his hints on October 4, 2019, when he announced that he would be leaving Citizen TV to concentrate on something else.

He has also been known to trigger debates on his platforms through his engaging posts and take on political matters, including Alfred Mutua's reports about threats to his life and Waititu's impeachment.

Hussein had also spoken about his future in media in his last show, where he denied that he was resigning, but that he was taking a break with a view to returning someday.

His first announcement about leaving Citizen TV in October featured the words 'see you soon".  On Friday, December 2019, he reiterated "again, see you soon".

Mohamed was well-known for his hard-hitting debates, having been the host of Big Question before he took over News Night, which is currently being hosted by Waihiga Mwaura.

His departure, though anticipated, sent ripples through the media industry with many wondering why he made the decision, forcing him to clear the air.

“I am very humbled and I thank you all for all the messages. Now know you were never angry with me. My decision to quit was never personal,” he stated.
