Striking Graffiti Plastered All Over CBD Wows Nairobians

Nairobi has become a canvas of sorts for some graffiti artists who chose to use art to decorate the city.

Taking a walk down Kenyatta Avenue, and other roads in the city, you will come across the artwork making trends all over social media on Monday 23, December 2019.

Some of the painting include actual zebras on public crossings, 3D black and white crossing marks, footprints, as well as hopscotch games.

World record holder Eliud Kipchoge was also honoured in a large portrait near Hughes Building next to ICEA Kenyatta Avenue.

According to one of the graffiti artists, they joined hands to beautify the streets of Nairobi, to make Nairobi residents and visitors enjoy the city this festive season.

You will spot different things in different places within the city. Slow down and see Nairobi, enjoy your public spaces, keep the city clean.

“We shared our voice through art. I hope this inspires to find your voice and change something around you.” Mufasa the poet captioned the creative pieces on Twitter.

Ian Gwagi one of the coordinators told Kenyans.co.ke that operation which involved about 30 creatives took almost two months to plan.

The work started on Monday, December 16, and continued through the week until supplies run out.

City residents are welcome to admire the artistic expression from some of Kenya’s best creatives.
