Ruto Takes Out Mariga to High-Stakes Football Competition

Deputy President William Ruto and former footballer McDonald Mariga on Monday, December 23 attended the Mumboha Hustlers Cup in Luanda, in Vihiga County.

In videos obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, DP Ruto and Mariga were asked to take penalties which they scored.

During Ruto’s turn against the goalkeeper, who is also Luanda Township MCA, Tom Atingo, the DP cheered the crowd with his warm-up exercise. 

Ruto went on the ground and did 10 press-ups, attracting praise from the crowd. 

The DP went forward to hammer in a goal against the MCA as everyone ran into a celebration.

During the event, the DP reiterated the need to empower talented youth as a way of ensuring the nation moves on to absolute development.

“If Kenya is to move forward, it is because of the energy and professionalism that is in our young people.

“We must be ready to embrace and support the talents that the youths in our society carry with them,” remarked Ruto.

Ruto further promised continued support from the government tp youths in different parts of the country.

“Our youths are the game changers in the transformation of our nation. We have no option but to assist them attain self-development.

“In all ways, the youths have for long been neglected, leading to most of them misusing their energy and professionalism in unnecessary ways,” added Ruto.
