GSU Officer Nabbed for Kidnapping Safaricom Employee

A GSU officer was among three people arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal investigations in Mombasa on Friday, December 27 in connection with the kidnapping of a Safaricom employee.

Constable Kelvin Komora who is based in Baringo was arrested alongside Grace Wairimu and Omar Mwanguze after Abducting a 36-Yr-Old Safaricom employee who works in Malindi.

The trio was said to have gone after the victim after she failed to clear a Ksh 500,000 loan in the agreed timeline

The victim was reported to have taken the loan from Wairimu and failed to clear within the agreed time and thus Wairimu sought the help of the officer and Omar to get back her money.

According to a report by the DCI, the accused ambushed the victim and forced her into an awaiting Nissan motor vehicle and driving off with her.

"Upon receiving the report of a possible abduction, DCI detectives made a hot pursuit of the Nissan motor vehicle whereupon being cornered, the perpetrators drove into Central Police Station Mombasa,

"Victim rescued and the three placed in custody as further investigations continue," the DCI report further read.

In May 2019, a former Kenya Defense Forces officer and a female suspect were arrested over the kidnap of a 4-year-old girl in Utawala area, Nairobi.

The girl, who is in Baby Class, was reported to have been abducted by two unknown persons while walking near the gate to her home.

She was later traced to Machakos County where she was found in the custody of the two suspects.
