Fed Up Father Grabs Son & Jumps to Death Inside Church Well

A 22-year-old man and his son on Thursday, January 2, committed suicide inside a church compound.

Isaac Imbiakha and his three-year-old son are said to have jumped into a well at St Luke's Evergrade Anglican Church's well at Forest Village in Lukiyani Sub-county within Kakamega County.

The Standard reported that Imbiakha had a quarrel with the wife before the incident happened.

Eyewitnesses narrated that Imbiakha left behind some of his belongings and those of his son including a wallet, his identity card and some tobacco.

"Construction workers at the church were shocked to find the well wide open yet it had been closed the previous evening.

"The sweater and the wallet made them suspect that something bad had happened," John Barasa, an eye witness stated.

Some of the villagers who spoke to the publication stated that Imbiakha had warned his family members against looking for him in case he and his son disappeared.

"He had been overwhelmed with domestic problems. He had told the family that he would die with his son," Soy sub-location Assistant Chief Cornelius Luvasa stated.

Luvasa further urged area residents to find better methods of resolving domestic matters by engaging in dialogue.
