NTV's Celebrated investigative journalist Dennis Okari was named the new Special Projects Editor at the station on Monday, January 20.
The renowned journalist whose recent 'Poisonous Unga' exposé went viral, was tasked with heading all investigative content across all platforms including digital at the station, moving forward.
He is expected to not only lead investigations, but mentor and support reporters to conceive of, develop and execute high-impact stories
This came after the media house announced 14 major changes in their editorial management team, in a bid to remain competitive in the cut-throat media industry.
“In order to achieve the highest possible standards of quality and professionalism, plan our content better, improve the way we work and allow people to work to their strengths, a new structure has been developed and will take effect on January 20, 2020,” reads an excerpt of a memo shared at the media house.
Several household names under the NTV brand were moved around into new roles in a bid to ensure that everyone was placed in areas they would excel in.
The latest shake-up is reminiscent of the last major change at the media house in 2018 when the station put together a new team of presenters.
Some of their lead presenters such as Larry Madowo, Nimrod Taabu and Jamila Mohammed left during the 2018 re-alignment, however, no major departures have been announced following the latest changes.
