You Can Joke Anywhere Else in the Country, But Not Mombasa- Joho to Tanga Tanga

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has warned Ruto-allied leaders against interfering with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) forum, set to take place on Saturday, January 25.

Speaking at the Tononoka grounds in Mombasa where the meeting is expected to be held, Joho sent a stern warning to anyone seeking to disrupt the meeting.

"Let them be made aware that they can joke anywhere else in the country but it shall not be in Mombasa," he remarked.

A section of Kenyans was not pleased with Joho's sentiments, with most questioning Joho's tone with a backdrop of a BBI that intended to unite Kenyans from all fronts.

"What will you do anyway Mr Joho? You are talking as if you are owning BBI, I thought BBI is for us all, freedom of speech and movement is allowed," Faith Korir stated.

"Go slow Mr Joho, this BBI is to unite all Kenyans not to divide," Lawi Kiptui weighed in.

"This is not the way wananchi need to be led and convinced that BBI is good for our country at large," Silwal Jawinam stated.

"Go slow Joho, Mombasa is part of Kenya. BBI is about United Kenya. Not Mombasa only. It's about airing views and collecting data on the same. Accept change," Thomas Sunvant added.

Joho's apparent threats came days after Jubilee Party's Tangatanga faction resolved to participate in the countrywide BBI forums.

Speaking from Serena Hotel in Nairobi, Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen led a group of Jubilee Senators and MPs, including Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, who all vowed to aid Odinga in drumming up support for the initiative.

"We will be participating in all public BBI rallies across the country and this weekend we will be in Mombasa together with the BBI team," he declared.
