Citizen TV's youngest news anchor is set to marry the love of his life after a surprise proposal that blew her away.
Kimani Mbugua, while speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, on February 4, stated that he had gone to his fiancée's (Michelle) workplace, who was at the time unwell when he proposed.
"She was at work, it was in the morning and it was raining, I went to her office and took some documents that she was supposed to sign.
"She was in a lot of pain and I told her, look I am going to be here forever and I am always going to be here for you. Then I asked her if she could marry me," Kimani continued.
In addition, the news anchor thanked his girlfriend for saying 'yes' to his abrupt proposal.
"I really did find someone who was crazy enough to want to spend their life with me and that, friends, is courageous and that's what love is; a bold statement to self and to someone else that you'll always have their back no matter what," he wrote on his Instagram page.
Kimani further disclosed that he and his girlfriend were looking forward to having a wedding before the end of the year.
"From the first day, we knew we wanted to be together. I did the proposal in January but I took a photo of the ring yesterday. All this time, we were looking for a ring because she really has tiny fingers but we found one yesterday.
"We are looking forward to having a wedding, it's not going to be a conventional wedding. It's just going to be us and our friends," he concluded.
