Philip Moi's daughter, Talissa, is one young woman who is hell-bent on leaving her mark in the world.

Despite being a descendant in one of the wealthiest families in the country, the adventurous girl still opted to try her hand in business, immersing herself in ventures that are close to her heart - Bobotanics and Nectava.

The young CEO describes her Bobotanics brand as an organic skincare line that specializes in soaps, cleansers and body washes. Fresh from the farm to your doorstep, Bobotanics uses only natural ingredients in their products.

“When I was travelling around the country last year I became awe-struck by our nation's wild and exotic plant species. Curiously, I dived deeper into the world of botanical research, only to discover the incredible bioactive compounds and properties present in our native plants," Talissa explained in an interview.

She has since found a way to harness all the great benefits of the natural ingredients she studied to create skincare products.

She proudly boasts of the fact that her products contain absolutely no synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, parabens or sulphates.

Interestingly, her venture into this particular line of business could be argued to have happened almost accidentally.

"I started to create natural formulas for myself, family and friends. The response was so great I thought why not create a skincare line that would help improve our everyday beauty routines." she disclosed when quizzed on how she started out.

She also revealed that she used up some of her savings and monetary gifts given to her by her family on special days such as birthdays and Christmas, as her seed capital during the onset of her business.

As for Nectava, the company basically acts as a conduit or go-between honey farmers in Kakamega and Baringo county and the world market.

Talissa confessed to having noticed a problem faced by most Kenyan rural farmers was a lack of access to ready markets for their produce.

"We at Nectava aim to solve this problem by connecting these farmers to the world market," she announced during a campaign video shared on her various media platforms.

Philip's firstborn daughter's entrepreneurial spirit is unrivalled, and she was quick to give some tips to budding businessmen and women across the country.

“Entrepreneurship has changed my life in many ways. In particular, it has made me accountable for both my time and actions. If I don’t get things done, no one else will.
