The duo then packed several laptops and two camera's, unaware that a second camera was still on. The second robber who had taken off his hood, unmasking his identity, noticed the second camera and had his friend turn it towards the wall too.

Mary Mwende, the shop's owner, lamented that the robbery cost her a fortune.

"They stole over 42 laptops and two cameras. I found the door open and after I asked the guard what had happened, he asked me to check it out for myself. I lost goods worth Ksh 1.7 million," Mwende stated.

In an adjacent money transfer shop, one Daniel lost over Ksh 80, 000 in cash and accessories worth Ksh 300,000.

The robbers partied away as they packed the valuable goods, judging by the empty bottles of liquor in a liquor store near the two shops. The robbers are suspected to have gained entry into the mall through the liquor store.

The shop owners suspect that a nightguard, Edward Matere, who was on duty on the fateful day, collaborated with the robbers, as he has never reported from duty since that night.

Matere reportedly worked for five days, as he was new at the mall.

Police urged anyone with information whatsoever on the robbers to inform relevant authorities.
