Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has given President Uhuru Kenyatta advice on how to deal with Deputy President William Ruto's alleged insolence.
Addressing a gathering in her Kirinyaga backyard on Thursday, February 27, Waiguru exhorted Uhuru for being too patient with Deputy President William Ruto.
She told the crowd that is she had been President Kenyatta, she would not have kept up with DP Ruto's constant contradiction of the president.
“Sometimes, even if you love your wife, it becomes too much, you need to have mutual respect, respect the hierarchy, Uhuru has endured so much, if it was me, I would not stand that abuse,” she stated.
Waiguru further advised that in any relationship, it was not catastrophic to lose a partner as there were many others who were could fit the bill.
“Even if you lose your partner, you do not stay alone, you look for another one and keep life moving,” she told the gathering.
She did not fail to recognize the agreement between President Kenyatta and DP Ruto that would see the latter support the former' 2022 preidential ambition under the Jubilee government's pledge.
She indicated that despite the commitment, President Kenyatta needed to accept that the relationship between him and the DP was broken and he should focus on completing the journey alone.
"We are not saying that we did not agree on the 10-10 presidential term for the two, but at some point, it gets out of hand and you have to finish what you promised Kenyans even without your better half,” she stated.
Waiguru was addressing a gathering in Kirinyaga county to popularize the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) in a region that has shown a lukewarm reception to it.
She was accompanied by Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri and a handful of MCAs.
