Endeared comedian Vincent Mwasia, aka Chipukeezy, stepped down from his show, Chipukeezy show, aired on TV 47. On Saturday, February 29, via Instagram, he further announced that Milele FM presenter Nick Chege, would take over the show.

He, however, did not disclose the reasons as to why he had handed it over, and efforts to reach him were futile.

"It has been a year hosting the show with Kartelo and he will be taking over the steering wheel," Chipukeezy

Fast-rising comedian, Kartelo, who landed his first radio job in January 2020, wished Chipukeezy well through his Instagram post too.

"Its been a whole year hosting alongside you. Tumetesa bro. (We rocked). Kindly come pick your clearance and leaving certificates," Kartelo joked.

Kartelo hosts Bangaiza Reloaded at Milele FM from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday alongside presenter, Chris Da Bass.

The duo has been close friends and used to host the Chipukeezy Show together at Ebru TV. In August 2019, they left Ebru TV, after a spat between them and the station's management. Chipukeezy indicated that the management intended to push away Kartelo from the Chipukeezy Show, an idea that he refuted.

“I received an email from Ebru TV asking me to terminate my agreement and collaboration with Kartelo on my show.

"They say they are a bit concerned that the show has become a bit ghetto because of the many youths (upcoming musicians and comedians) on the show,” wrote Chipukeezy on Instagram.

However, Ebru TV refuted the claims, arguing that it had no problem with Kartelo as alleged by Chipukeezy.

“We need to clarify that Kartelo was not an employee of Ebru Television and he was not in the payroll either. The only official agreement that the station had with Kartelo is on a census campaign.

"The honorary agreement with Chipukeezy availed the opportunity for Kartelo to be a regular guest on his show as well as relied solely and full-on their ability to leverage their performances on TV, as well as online platforms and help promote Ebru and its partnerships, which are vital to Ebru’s growth and sustainability,” a press release by Ebru TV read.
