Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga led other Siaya County delegates to hold talks with Gideon Moi at his Kabarak home on March 5.

The governor and his delegation delivered a truck full of goodies which included sacks of maize, a huge portrait of the late former President Daniel Moi and a bull.

Speaking at Kabarak, the governor told leaders to be selfless and always focused on assisting the people.

“We will unite and assist each other. We shall be friends together especially in this journey,” stated the governor.

Gideon, who received the delegation comprising MCAs and county ministers, appreciated the love showed to his family.

Rasanga reiterated his support on BBI, stating that he wanted to see it achieved through a combined effort from all the leaders in the country.

“We are resolute on BBI and we want to see the baby born; we don’t want a stillbirth,” the governor explained.

He announced that a delegation from Siaya will attend the BBI rally in Nakuru on March 21.

Gideon lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga for coming together and initiating the handshake, the outcome of which, he noted, was unity and more importantly, ensuring there was inclusivity.

Rift Valley politics took centre stage with the Baringo senator stating that the region belonged to all communities living there and it was not any individuals' property.

He added residents had issues that needed to be addressed through the BBI process.

“Rift Valley belongs to all Kenyans; our people have issues that need to be addressed and this must happen. Let’s help our people as this is the only opportunity,” added the Baringo senator.

Rasanga said the visit to Kabarak was as a result of the cordial relationship his family had with that of the late President Daniel arap Moi for many years.
