"Because we understand the financial problems the virus has subjected this group of people to, I will commit 100 per cent of my April salary to the Covid-19 fight. Staff members attached to my office, including the CDF management, will take a 20 per cent pay-cut,” Nyoro stated.

The Deputy President William Ruto ally urged the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund Board to provide a pay bill number and allow contributions from well wishers.

The lawmaker joins in the trend of legislators who have given up their salaries to help in the fight towards taming the spread of the virus.

On Wednesday, March 25, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino wrote to Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi, also pledging his salary for the month of April towards fighting Coronavirus.
