Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri tore into K24 news anchor Anne Kiguta at a press conference on Sunday, May 3, in Nakuru County.

A close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, Ngunjiri claimed that Kiguta was biased against the Deputy President in her shows, stating that she was not fit to be a television presenter.

He was echoing sentiments shared by Jubilee leaders affiliated with Ruto ever since Kiguta delivered a hard-hitting editorial telling the Deputy President that it was necessary for him to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta if he was to ascend to the Presidency.

Alluding to the fact that Kiguta is a mother of twins fathered by Jomo Gecaga, Uhuru's nephew and Personal Assistant, Ngunjiri claimed that Kiguta's editorial was motivated by family ties.

Wrangles in the Jubilee Party have pit leaders allied to Ruto against those allied to Uhuru ever since the President entered into a handshake with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on March 9, 2018.

"I am happy for the media which is here because even those people have captured some of the media. Like [expletive] called Kiguta, you cannot be a presenter and you are an activist. You cannot!

"But we know her and why she went to K24 so we forgive her. We know which family she belongs to, who her children belong to, we know. She is defending your family.

"The politics you are doing, we understand it because you are defending your children. Why don't you run for an elective seat?" he posed.

He attacked Jubilee Party officials allied to Uhuru such as Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, accusing them of seeking to wrestle away control of the party during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ngunjiri went on to question why Uhuru had not come out to counter attacks on Ruto from leaders including the Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli.

"I'm asking Uhuru, when all this is happening in the party, when Atwoli is standing up on Labor Day to abuse Ruto, why are you watching, laughing and doing nothing?

"When you see a tortoise on a table, know someone put it there. Everyone causing issues, from the Office of the President to anywhere else, they will not be answerable to Kenyans, they will be answerable to you.

"People are looking at you, not those who are talking. If you stand one day and stay stop this, stop the party wrangles and fight Coronavirus, people will listen.

"If you tell people today to stop insulting the DP, the politics will stop. But instead, we are being divided, from MPs to MCAs, and you are just watching," he lamented.

He claimed that if the tables were turned and he was the one being isolated by Ruto, Jubilee lawmakers would fight to defend him.

"If Ruto was President and you were his Deputy, and he did to you what you are doing to him, all of us would be in the streets," he asserted.
