On the night of Saturday, May 9, footage surfaced apparently showing Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro protesting outside the Kilimani Police Station for what was thought to be the release of his Gatundu South counterpart Moses Kuria.
Kuria was on the same day trending across social media platforms, after he made remarks regarding the May 4, evictions that left at least 7,000 citizens homeless in Nairobi's Kariobangi area.
Concerned citizens raised questions regarding the legislator's whereabouts, with some claiming that he was missing.
However, Kenyans.co.ke has since established that the footage of Ndindi Nyoro and Kandara MP Alice Wahome getting teargassed while agitating for the release of their colleague is unrelated to the latest developments regarding the vocal Gatundu South MP.

The video actually first surfaced on January 10, after Kuria was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman (Joyce Wanja) at Royal Media Services studios on December 8, 2019.
Wanja had informed the police that the legislator had assaulted during a TV show in which they discussed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), leading to his arrest and detention at the Kilimani Police Station.
"It was then that he stood and punched me, knocking me down. Those present helped me.
"I have recorded a statement, obtained and submitted a P3 form and witnesses have recorded statements but nothing has been done," she stated at the time.
In the latest saga surrounding the legislator, his whereabouts have drawn questions, with exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna claiming that the MP was being held under President Uhuru Kenyatta's orders.
"Uhuru Kenyatta must #FreeMosesKuria! We are not going to surrender to tyranny regardless of who they abduct, arrest, detain, torture, or murder. We must stand up fearlessly and demand justice for everyone - our friends, enemies or detractors alike," Miguna's tweet reads in part.
Efforts by Kenyans.co.ke to track down the MP have been unsuccessful so far, as his phone is switched off.
He was last seen in public during his protest in Kariobangi, where he angrily questioned the move by the government to evict thousands of families, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
"How does one reconcile their conscience to see women and children evicted when they are suffering from lack of money, acute food shortage, unforgiving rains and battling with Coronavirus? How does it benefit you to own the whole world and lose your soul? You will burn in hell," he decried.
The video of his impassioned Kariobangi speech went viral, leading some to claim that he was not missing but just flying under the radar until things cooled off.
