Jubilee Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has spoken out on her looming expulsion from Jubilee Party, after she and four other nominated senators snubbed Jubilee Senate Parliamentary Group meeting, convened by President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House on Monday, May 11.

On Wednesday, May 13, Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju disclosed plans to expel the senators, who he argued, were disloyal to the party as they were invited, but never responded to the invitations nor issued apologies.

Omanga, while speaking on Radio Maisha, on Thursday, May 14, argued that she was not invited to State House and only came to learn of the changes effected in the Senate through social media.

"It's not true. I was not invited to State House. I came to know about it through social media. Maybe some Senators were informed and others were not. I did not receive an email or SMS. My personal assistant was neither informed," Omanga, a staunch Deputy President William Ruto ally defended.

The senator further claimed that Tuju had also not issued her with an expulsion notice.

"To say the truth, I have not received that letter. I have seen it in newspapers, the television and social media platforms. I tried reaching out to Tuju but he was unavailable. I left him my number and a text message.

"We are in a democratic world and we need to have discussions whenever an issue arises. I oppose the changes conducted at State House -Senators Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Susan Kihika (Nakuru) were ousted as Senate Majority Leader and Majority Chief Whip- as I don't know what happened and how it was conducted," Omanga stated.

She went on to reiterate her support for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy but slammed the merger between Jubilee and Kenya African National Union (Kanu).

"I support Uhuru's Big 4 Agenda and Jubilee's agenda. However, for elections conducted at State House, Kanu members votes should not have been counted. On the merger, if it followed legal processes, then would we reject it?

"No one is frustrating Uhuru. All those are stories created in the media. On the divisions that people claim are within Jubilee, I haven't spoken with DP Ruto on the issues. I haven't spoken with him in the last one or two weeks, neither the president. I know the president listens and if he allows me to explain my issues, I will do so willingly. If I speak with the DP on Jubilee divisions, then I will authoritatively state what he tells me," Omanga stated.
