Bishop David Kariuki Ngare alias Gakuyo of the Calvary Chosen Centre Church in Thika has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to speedily engineer a motion to impeach his deputy, William Ruto.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, May 20, the man of the cloth who is not known to shy away from controversy then asked the president to turn his whip towards the National Assembly and kick out any members who had 'betrayed' the party.

"The National Assembly is actually the House that is filled with individuals who do not support the President. We urge him to look into the National Assembly and determine whether the likes of Duale are in the fold.

"He should also look at the Speaker, Justin Muturi, and ask if he is for the party or against, if it's the latter, he should be removed," he urged.

He went on to ask the President to crack his whip on legislators he defined as dissidents.

"He should flush them out root and stem. We already ousted Murkomen so it's not that hard to do the same to the rest," he stated.

The controversial Bishop also asked the Head of State to investigate parastatals and turn the screws on any individuals who refuse to toe the line set out by the government.

He then levelled several accusations against Mt Kenya MPs allied to DP Ruto such as Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and warned that they would soon face the same fate.

"Mt Kenya leaders don't want the Raila-Uhuru coalition because they want autonomy to loot without fear of reprimand,

"They want to control tender allocations and loot the country dry. This is what Uhuru stopped using the handshake and that is why MPs who were caught flat-flooted are trying to bring disarray in the country," he claimed

The current saga surrounding the ruling party took another twist on May 19, as Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki found himself on the chopping block.

Recently appointed Senate Majority Whip Irungu Kang'ata, gave a notice of motion for the removal of Senator Kindiki as the deputy speaker of the House.

“I beg to move that the Senate resolves that Senator Kithure Kindiki be removed from the office of the Deputy Speaker,” the notice read in part. Senate settled on Friday, May 22, for a special sitting to determine Kindiki's fate.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, on May 20, echoed Bishop Gakuyo's sentiments and asked the rebels within the ruling party to either respect the president or resign.
