Kandara MP Alice Wahome has been a vocal critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the recent past as she remains steadfast in her support for DP William Ruto.

With the current unrest in the Jubilee Party, the Inua Mama chairperson maintains that no amount of intimidation will deter her unwavering support for the DP and the Tanga Tanga faction.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, on Thursday, May 21, the Jubilee legislator stated the current war being perpetrated by the party leadership would end up hurting the party more than Ruto's allies.

She conveyed that if  Ruto allies are removed, their resolve to support the DP would be stronger and the party would have trouble convincing the electorate against the DP.

"We shall remain steadfast in support of the President and the Deputy. No amount of intimidation will change our course. You can fight and remove one or two persons but before leadership seats came we were MPs of the Jubilee with the mandate of the electorate.

"So what will they do with the electorate who support Ruto? And they are not interested with all the narratives that have been created and floated to reduce DP's influence," she posed adding that the DP's allies had strong support from the grassroots.

She added that the removal from Parliament leadership positions was not the end of the road for the MPs.

"We really don't care if they are ejected because the seats came after we were elected. It's not a matter of life and death. Let them put in any other member to lead if they feel they will do a better job," she proclaimed.

On the Jubilee MPs who had changed their allegiance, she said that they had been coerced by the party leadership to toe the line.

On Tuesday, a list surfaced showing that Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga was among Senators supporting the motion to remove Kithure Kindiki as Deputy Speaker, despite having been a vocal Ruto supporter. The motion was scheduled to be discussed on Friday, May 22, in a special sitting.

"The leaders who the media have labelled as traitors are not really traitors because they are being pressured by the Jubilee leadership," she added.

On Wednesday, May 16, she told off political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi over an assertion that GEMA leaders did not have a reason to support Ruto.

"Mutahi Ngunyi. I m a member of the Gema Nation. Before you advise that we hang together or die together, who told you we are together? “The rich and the Dynasties are alone and Hustlers alone. The Gema vote is for Ruto. Swallow the bitter pill," she posted.
