Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has revealed that Deputy President William Ruto and Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi are plotting a 2022 coalition.
Barasa held a closed-door meeting with Mudavadi on Thursday, May 28, that discussed unfolding political events in the country, elementary democracy, strategic and visionary plans to revive the ailing economy.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Barasa revealed details of his meeting with Mudavadi noting that the ANC Party leader was considering collaborating with Ruto.
"Ruto and Mudavadi will work together. We also discussed the need for [Bungoma Senator Moses] Wetangula and Mudavadi to come together and defeat these conmen masquerading as community leaders in the name of [COTU Secretary-General] Francis Atwoli and the rest.
"I meet the DP quite often and I see some common similarities between the DP and Musalia. They can lower themselves and allow to be given an opinion regardless of whether the person giving the opinion is 30 or 50 years," noted the MP.
Barasa noted that it was time to build Alliances and relationships that could be used to cross over and maintain bridges of friendship for many years to come for the benefit of the country.
The legislator also revealed that Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was not part of their discussions.
"The meeting was also about issues affecting the country now that Musalia is our leader in Western and even if I'm on the DP side, it is good for us to work together.
"We discussed working with various leaders and various political parties but Raila was not part of our discussion. He is not part of the people we want to work with," added Barasa.
Despite the two coming from different political parties, the MP explained that rival parties were also merging to work together.
"I'm in Jubilee Party, he is ANC but definitely we will work together and create a common political platform going forward.
"Even Uhuru is working with ODM, so we have to work as a community to plan ourselves and make sacrifices. We have to put aside our personal ambitions and interests and walk together," concluded Baraza.
On Tuesday, May 26, Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula also held a meeting that discussed and reflected on the political and economic challenges that faced the country.
Mudavadi also met with Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi on Thursday, May 28, and discussed Kenya’s political interests; focussing on the state of the economy and a legislative agenda to help restore hope and rebuild the country to posterity beyond the pandemic.
