Eleven Counties to Experience Power Blackout - Kenya Power

Meru is the most affected county as Kenya Power has announced an all-day power blackout in eleven counties. 

Kenya Power made the announcement through their social media pages on Monday, June 1 asking Kenyans to brace for planned power interruptions.

According to the agency, the blackouts will commence at different times per locations, between at 8 -9 a.m. up to between 4 -5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2.

The counties affected are Nairobi, Bomet, Vihiga, Kisii, Migori, Nyeri, Meru, Mombasa, Murang'a, Tharaka Nithi and Embu Counties.

In Nairobi, the whole of Utawala area from Eastern Bypass, Fahari Hotel, Utawala Shopping Centre to Zebra Est will be affected as from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mombasa Residents in Parts of Jitoni, Jomvu Kuu; Jomvu Mission up to Mji wa Ng'ombe will experience a power outage in similar time such as Nairobi.

In Meru, planned power interruptions will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m in over 45 regions 

All the regions are within Kinoru, Githongo and Imenti.

Residents of Kegogi, Nyatieko, Kisii County, Kiawarigi, Itiati and Gitunduti in Nyeri County will also be affected.

In Migori, Uriri, Wasio and Bware residents will experience power shortages from 8: 30 a.m to 5 p.m.
