A Kenyan nurse based in the United States is among six people who were charged with manslaughter after the mysterious death of an inmate.

A report by CBS7 on Saturday, August 1, indicated that the nurse, Lilian Okeri, was accused of allegedly tampering with the American government records.

The six, who included Adeola Adesomi, 41, Flora Estrada, 30, Timothy Forbush, 28, and Kelly Robins, 52, were also charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide.

The deceased, Savion Hall, who was serving his jail term at Midland County Detention Center in Texas, was pronounced dead at a hospital in Lubbock on July 19, 2019.

The nurses were accused of causing Hall's death after they failed to keep proper medical records which would have advised for proper medication to be administered to him.

The reports also indicated that the nurses made false entries into the reports.

The District Attorney Laura Nodolf noted that the six nurses were not employed by Midland County but were contracted.

She further explained that the hearing of the case had been delayed due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.

Okeri was an LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) at the time of Hall's death but changed ranks and is now classified as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Okeri joins Rachel Michuki, 41, a kenyan woman who was arrested for trying to bribe police officers who had detained her for driving under the influence of alcohol on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

She allegedly offered the enforcers cash in exchange for freedom, telling one of the officers that his colleague “can’t do it alone”.

According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the two officers who handled the incident stated that she had bloodshot and watery eyes when they arrived between 9:20 am and 9:50 am.

She told police she had a few drinks the night before but hadn't consumed alcohol on the morning of the arrest. However, she allegedly failed an alcohol test at the scene.
