A man of asian decent on Wednesday, August 12, barred Public Works CAS Wavinya Ndeti from inspecting the Ksh17 billion Likoni footbridge project in Liwatoni, Mombasa.
In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the man was heard explaining that he was the Chief Engineer of the project and insisted that the authorities needed to have informed the company prior to their visit.
"The issue is that you never informed us that you were coming," he explained.

The engineer had locked the gate, probing a heated argument between him and Mvita DCC Charles Monari in the presence of the CAS.
Angered by the happenings, Monari forcefully pulled the engineer from the gate as the CAS followed him to calm him down.
"Didn't I explain who I was and who she (the CAS) was but you still locked the gate," Monari posed.
The stand-off was later resolved and inspection conducted as planned by the CAS.
Ndeti has been inspecting various projects in the country. On Tuesday, August 11, she and Bakari Bowa, the MD Kenya Ferry and Chief Engineer Structural Hillary Nyaga Inspected Mtongwe Jetty and the mainland jetty.
The CAS announced that operations would begin on September 1, 2020.
"The boundary wall is expected to shorten travel distance of Mtongwe residents, decongest Likoni Ferry and improve economic activities within Mtongwe area," she stated.
She added that President Uhuru Kenyatta was prioritizing implementation of the sustainable blue economy programs because the sector had potential to accelerate Kenya's development.
