Isiolo County Commissioner Harman Shambi was involved in a grisly accident on the eve of Friday, October 2, 2020.

Shambi was travelling to Nairobi when his Toyota Prado crashed into an oncoming fuel tanker at Naromoru.

The front part of the vehicle was completely wrecked, but he was lucky to escape with injuries.

It is not yet clear if there were other occupants in the car at the time but Shambi was rushed to a hospital in Nyeri County.

The county commissioner is currently out of danger and medics at Outspan Hospital are monitoring his recovery.

This is Shambi's second lucky escape since 2019 when his palatial mansion burned to the ground.

At the time, he was incharge of Homa Bay County after being promoted from his position as Nakuru East Deputy County Commissioner.

The county commissioner and his family, including children, were in the house taking evening tea around 6.30pm when they noticed smoke coming from one of the rooms.

“We tried putting out the fire using water but we did not succeed as it quickly spread to other rooms,” Shambi said.

Shambi said no one was injured in the huge inferno that razed down everything in the house, including important documents.

“No one was hurt, we are all fine, except for the children who got a little scared,” the administrator said.
