Migori Governor Okoth was featured in a new Dholuo gospel song by the Rapogi Lwanda Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church.

The song Pak Odogne Yesu (Praise be to God) was released on Tuesday, September 15.

That was the same month the governor was starring at an impeachment motion fronted by his party, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The song adores God and lauds praise onto him for creating the world and for loving human beings.

Obado was part of the men's choir who sang the bass and alto voices.

The governor was dressed in a blue hat (closely resembling a turban or the trademark Didmus Barasa cap) and a chequered shirt.

An excerpt of the song says:

Praise be unto Jesus, our Lord

The sounding trumpets and flute glorify him

He is worth praise every day

I have chosen to exalt him

I have experience of his great endeavours

He opens gateways

My distress touches him

When my heart pounds, he draws closer

Obado and ODM leader Raila Odinga reunited during a burial ceremony in Migori County on Friday, October 9.

He declared his support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and backed Odinga for the Presidency. ODM had accused him of dalliance with Deputy President William Ruto and graft.

"Baba, what has been peddled to you against me is utter falsehood and rumours meant to create a rift. My support for the BBI and your presidential bid has been unwavering. We are all seeking to go to Canaan,” Obado stated.

The former Prime Minister stated that he would unite Obado and Migori Senator Ochillo Ayacko and solve the Migori stalemate as the BBI was out to enhance unity and cohesion.

Obado's impeachment motion has failed to take off four times, with the County Assembly postponing the debate. A female MCA's arm was broken in a scuffle that ensued when the MCAs convened to discuss the impeachment on Wednesday morning, September 23.

Seven MCAs and the Speaker were arrested and later released on cash bail after recording statement with the police.

On Thursday, October 15, Obado failed to turn up to a meeting where he had been invited by ODM party officials at Chungwa House.

It was alleged that Obado and the ODM officials were to discuss plans to end planned impeachment of the Governor fronted by the party.

"The invite was a bit urgent and I had other engagements. This should not be viewed as an act of defiance, and I have since communicated to the party," Obado stated.
