Churchill Comedian Sleepy David to Host New TV Show on KTN

  • Churchill comedian Sleepy David has bagged a major TV deal where he is set to host a new show on KTN.

    Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the comedian disclosed that the show dubbed Shining Stars will be a talent showcase for children.

    "The platform is meant for discovering, nurturing and celebrating children in different fields by helping them see there are different careers in other sectors," he explained.

    The show which would air on KTN every Saturday at 7:30 pm would feature talented children as well as celebrity surprises.

    The show will also have a fun interactive segment dubbed “Hangout with Sleepy.”

    "At Shining Stars, we believe in preparing our loved ones to thrive in the global economy. We remain committed and focused on providing Safe edutainment space for the whole family," he stated.

    In a previous interview with Kenyans.co.ke, Sleepy David stated he had engaged over 2,800 children in the Shining Stars Network in 2019 with opportunities to develop their talents.

    He explained that it is a platform for family entertainment that was anchored by entertainment he developed when working with Toto's corner on Churchill Show.

    "I live off art and it is a blessing to earn a living doing what you love," the comedian who studied theatre arts and film technology in University after dropping an engineering course added.

    He urged for support of the creative industry as it was a multi-billion industry that created employment opportunities for millions globally. 

    "We can build a whole industry that can expand the economy. Once we have a vibrant industry we can share our culture and products with the world," he advocated.

    The program will also seek to develop life skills in children including creative writing, singing, filmmaking, photography and fashion.
