A journalist who was dismissed from K24 TV has made a comeback on the Standard Group's KTN News.

Kenyans.co.ke has learnt that the presenter, Daniel Kariuki started his new job at KTN News as a reporter majoring on political stories.

His previous show at K24 TV was a segment on the station's morning slot called Lishe Bora that centered around cooking.

"He started on Wednesday, November 4. Initially he presented a show on K24 TV called Lishe Mtaani. It was all about cooking.

"He is now a reporter covering politics and current affairs," revealed a source..

In June 2020, Mediamax Network Limited fired all its newsroom staff in its broadcaster K24 TV including news anchors sparing only two people.

The former staffers had sued the station's management declining to take a pay cut that the station was instituting as a cost cutting measure.

The offer the new reporter received from KTN had slightly higher returns that those offered by Media Max before the pay cut saga.

Kariuki was joined at the Mombasa Road-based station by his former colleague at K24 TV Kimani Githuku.

Several other reporters who were shown the door from Kijabe Street based station have charted paths in other media organisations.

Betty Kyallo, who called it quits after prime time bulletin, transferred her Upclose with Betty segment to her Youtube channel where she shares aspects of her life with her fans.

Sam Njoroge, who anchored day time bulletin returned to KBC while sports show host Tony Kwalanda landed a night slot at Switch TV.
