As the set date of completion of the new matatu termini nears, the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) has resorted to working through the night to have the project completed days to the opening of the terminus.
This is after the agency stated that the new termini would be opened on December 14 after postponing the previous opening date from December 1, 2020.
In a video shared by NMS, civil works have been ongoing through the night as the new date approaches.

The terminals are expected to facilitate an alternative plan for the public service vehicles when a ban on matatus accessing the CBD comes into place.
NMS stated that it had created hundreds of jobs through the Public Service Commission.
"From hand packing before the roller compacts the gravel to jobs through the PSC, NMS has created hundreds of jobs, offered indiscriminately.
"Construction of the terminus is one of the many to be set up around the city, a step closer to a world-class city," NMS communicated on Saturday, December 12.
The agency had earlier stated that the matatu ban would be implemented in phases to avoid a transport crisis.
NMS Director in-charge of Transport, Engineer Michael Ochieng' noted that the roll-out of the ban would depend on how fast the new termini are built.
The green park terminus at Railways club is expected to have a capacity of 110 matatus and will serve PSVs plying Ngong Road and Lang'ata Road (Kawangware, Kikuyu, Kibera, Lang'ata, Rongai, Kiserian)
The terminus is among the newly designated termini constructed by NMS as part of the Nairobi Integrated Urban Development master plan and Decongestion Strategy under which PSVs will terminate their commute outside the CBD.
At the same time, the Fig Tree Terminus at Ngara will serve matatus from Waiyaki Way, Uhuru Highway, Kipande and Limuru roads.
