Eyewitnesses also accused the driver of over speeding. He rammed into Kevogo's saloon car resulting in the death of the journalist and four other occupants who died before being rushed to the hospital.

The police boss disclosed that the three other people who succumbed included a church member and close relatives of the KBC gospel programs producer. The bodies were taken to Rosewood Hospital mortuary in Rongo.

Statistics by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) detailed that road accidents have resulted in the death of 155 people in the last 10 days leading to December 13.
