Breast cancer is the leading form of cancer in Kenya, with about 6,000 new cases every year.

The Ministry of Health has been conducting Breast Cancer screening as well as appealing to women to get tested.

Some of the signs of breast cancer include; Lump in the breast, asymmetry, skin retraction, recent nipple retraction, blood-stained nipple discharge, eczematous changes in areola.

Koligey's death came just a few months after another musician, Ednah Cherono Kosgei, succumbed to kidney disease and spine complications.

She died while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

Kosgei was a member of the renowned Kericho-based Great Commission Singers led by Pastor Joel Kimetto.

"It is crushing to lose such talent at the prime of her life. My heartfelt condolences to the Kosgei family, the GCS, the AGC Church as well as her beloved friends for the loss of their loved one,” said Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot.
