CCTV footage has emerged showing how a thief pulled off a rather quick robbery on a shop in Mombasa.
In the undated video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the robber is seen walking into the shop with a paper in hand.
He appears to ask the shop attendant who had placed his phone on the table a question while gesturing at the paper.

Clearly a diversion tactic, the man is able to conceal the phone from the unsuspecting shop attendant who is concentrating on the paper.
The robber manages to pick the phone which is out of view, without arousing any suspicion from the attendant.
Upon completing his query, he walks out of the shop with the phone.
The camera footage captured the man's face as he had lowered his mask during the operation.
Police have launched a manhunt for the man.
The most recent police report on the crime statistics showed that Mombasa recorded 771 cases of stealing for the months of Jan to Dec 2018.
Earlier in September 2020, CCTV footage showed thugs breaking into a parked car in broad daylight in Mombasa.
Police mounted a search for the robbers, capturing them days later
The suspects were apprehended at the Majaoni area of Mombasa a day after another accomplice was nabbed at his home where a vehicle matching the description of the getaway car was recovered.
