Johnstone Muthama's ex-wife Agnes Kavindu, broke down while addressing a gathering as she spoke about her own children.

Kavindu's children recently expressed their displeasure at their mother’s decision to vie for Machakos Senator seat and termed it a politically driven move intended to embarrass their father Muthama.

Kavindu and Muthama divorced in 1983, and have been living separately.

She told the gathering that she had forgiven her children, and that she gives them her blessings and good wishes in their endevours.

"A lot of things have been said about my children. I take away all that has been said about them. I love them very much and I have forgiven them, and my husband. May God bless my children abundantly, stated Kavindu who could not hold back tears, terming the tears of love.

"I shed tears because of love, but I am a very strong woman. I don't shed tear easily. I will deliver for the people," Kavindu would later note.

She also asked people not to disrespect Muthama one bit.

"Vote for Kavindu wa Muthama. I am a woman and a mother. I am allowed to use that name (Muthama).

"I am asking you not show nay kind of disrespect to Muthama.

"Do not abuse Muthama. Do not abuse or disrespect him. It doesn't matter what you hear out there my fellow women, let us show him respect," she stated.

Kavindu who will is vying for the Machakos Senator seat on a Wiper ticket also took the time to ask women to vote for fellow women whenever they stand to vie.

"I am not saying you should not vote for men, no, but where women stand, please vote for them," noted Kavindu.

In her speech, Kavindu promised to work on the projects that the late Kabaka had started before his demise. She also promised to provide accountability for the finances of Machakos County.

Agnes Kavindu is a BBI supporter. She spoke about the two-third gender rule insisting that if women with the ability to lead contest, they should be given the chance to lead.
