Comedian David Oyando is better known as Mulamwah on Tuesday, February 16, blasted the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) chair Ezekiel Mutua for failing to keep his promise almost a year on.

In a statement, Mulamwah lamented that Mutua had instilled false hope in him by promising that he would make him the clean content ambassador.

"It’s almost a year since your promise, did you mean it or you were just tweeting for the moment, or am I “inaccessible”?

"If the government cannot help us as youth, then please don’t instill false hope in us, it’s better you leave us to suffer in peace," Mulamwah stated.

In quick succession, Mutua responded stating that the board had done a background check on him and noted that he did not fit the "Clean Content Ambassadors" bill.

"Bro, my little token of support was personal, not govt. Sorry if it gave you a false sense of entitlement...We do not support filth and bad manners. Content does not have to be dirty to sell!" he stated.

At the time the KFCB chair made the promise, the comedian announced that he had hung his comedy boots following trolls on social media.

“I hear that twitterates are driving Mulamwah out of comedy and into depression. Bro, pick yourself up and give me a call. I will buy you a new shirt, mentor you and make you an ambassador of clean content.

"The best way of dealing with cyberbullies is to refuse to give up!” Mutua had written.

He had also revealed that he had previously helped other entertainers who were willing to create clean content in the past.
