A traffic officer on Tuesday, February 23, braved the rains and helped a stranded motorist by covering him with an umbrella as he repaired his truck.

The kind officer became an instant sensation among Kenyans following his act - especially at a time when a number of police officers have not received very kind reviews in the last few weeks.

The officer took his time - standing in the rain - to shield the truck driver who had pulled over after suffering a mechanical hitch as rains continued to pound the capital.

The officer who was on duty left his post and walked over to the truck and held an umbrella over the driver who was fixing the truck.

A passerby captured the incident on video and shared it on social media platforms via the Ma3 Route page. Netizens applauded the officer for his action.

This is among the few cases where officers have been captured on video helping Kenyans, many others have probably gone unreported.

On December 10, 2020, a police officer was captured assisting water vendors to push their carts along a busy road. The police officer who was in full uniform helped push the cart filled with water jerricans alongside two other people. The photo broke the internet.

In March 2020, another officer was captured in a video sensitizing drivers on the Covid-19 pandemic while advocating for the regulations put in place by the ministry of health. In the video, the police officer was seen sanitizing drivers at a petrol station after their vehicle had stopped to refuel.

The good acts done randomly by officers portray the virtues not commonly revealed but laying beneath.
