UPDATE 16:02 A rogue driver who damaged another motorist's windscreen was on Saturday, February 27, arrested following an uproar on social media.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is looking for a driver of a Public Service Vehicle who was filmed crashing into a private motorist's car in an undated video that has since gone viral.

NTSA responded after a video of the incident caused an uproar among Kenyans on social media.

In the video recorded by the driver of the private vehicle, the two exchanged words before the matatu driver was seen crashing into the car and leaving its windscreen in pieces.

"You can take photos and videos all you want. I will hit your vehicle and will not pay for the damages," the driver stated before he made true his threat and sped off.

Kenyans called on NTSA to take action against the rogue driver who was plying along the Marurui route.

"This is painful to watch. The matatu owner, crew and Sacco should all be held responsible. This is unacceptable," a tweep stated.

"This madness should stop. It high time the government took over or nationalised public transport to weed out such thugs from the sector," another weighed in.

The incident came just days after a woman succumbed to her injuries when she was thrown out of a matatu in Juja, Kiambu County.

The woman is said to have been involved in an altercation with the matatu crew over the fare she had been asked to pay.

The matatu driver joined the tout in demanding that the woman pays Ksh200 which she vehemently refused.

The deceased was then pushed from the matatu rendering her unconscious for minutes. When she recovered, she called her brother who insisted on taking her to the hospital but she declined, saying she was okay.

She would, however, be pronounced dead the next day.
