A family of four died on Sunday, February 28, following an accident that took place near Two Rivers mall, Kiambu County.

Peter Miano Wahome, his wife Susan Wahome and two children Prince Wahome and Everlyn Wahome were traveling from Subukia to Nairobi, when the fatal incident took place.

Their vehicle, a Toyota Praso, collided head-on with a salon car that was heading in the opposite direction. Police say that the other vehicle was trying to overtake when the driver hit the family's vehicle.

The other motorist suffered serious injuries and is currently in a hospital in Nairobi.

The news was broken to Miano's elder brother Anthony Gichuki later in the day and he was asked to identify the bodies.

"I was contacted by a police officer who asked me if I knew a person by the name of my younger brother. I told them I did and it is then that they broke the sad news to me," Gichuki told Nation.

Speaking on the last moments with his brother, Gichuki stated that they communicated on Friday when he was travelling to Subukia for dowry payment.

"After he left home at around 9 pm, we spoke with my father who updated me on the day's events," he stated.

The burial arrangements of the four are taking place at Miano's father home in Arahuka in Solai.

In other news, three siblings from Ntulele area in Narok East Sub-County drowned in a dam on Sunday.

Narok East sub-county confirmed the incident saying that their bodies were found floating at the dam by a herdsman on Monday morning.
