ODM's Head Office Shut Down Amid Covid-19 Fears

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) head office was shut down after the Director of Communications tested positive for Covid-19. 

All the employees of Chungwa House were subjected to Covid-19 tests on Friday, March 12, after the party leader Raila Odinga tested positive for the virus.

Etale who had last week accompanied Raila on the tour of the coastal region to popularize the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) before he was taken ill made the announcement while giving the results of the Covid-19 test conducted on Raila’s family members.

All the family members of ODM’s leader Raila tested negative for the virus.

"I remain strong, determined and in high spirits. By His stripes, I will triumph. I will be healed. Please pray for me dear friends. In God I Trust," Etale requested.

Raila’s private office at Capitol Hill in Upperhill, Nairobi was also closed recently, even after all the staff at the office tested negative for Covid-19.

On Saturday, March 13, some of the leaders who joined the ODM leader on his tour at the coast went for Covid-19 tests. 

The Governor of Kilifi county, Amason Kingi, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, and the Member of Parliament for Voi Jones Mlolwa tested negative for the virus. The rest of the leaders await their results.

The ODM party leader was discharged from Nairobi Hospital,on Sunday, March 14 .
