Prophet Lovy Longomba of the ‘The Longombas’ music group, was spotted praying for fans at the Mediamax offices on Saturday, March 27.
Lovy Longomba is the founder and head pastor of Revelation Church of Jesus Christ in Los Angeles California, USA.
The former musician jetted back into the country after 15 years in the US, a trip coming shortly after the tragic demise of his twin brother Christian Longomba who succumbed to a brain tumor on Saturday, March 13.
"This trip was supposed to be made by me and him at some point this year, but God had other plans," he told a local daily.
The Longomba brothers relocated to Los Angeles California in the US in 2006, where the group was disbanded as they took other paths.
Lovy Elias became a pastor and focused only on writing and producing for established artists.
The Pastor, singer and songwriter, and three-time Grammy-nominated record producer scaled greater heights in his career after making huge strides in the music industry.
In 2014, he received a Grammy nomination for his writing and production work on the song Change Your Life by Iggy Azalea ft T.I off her debut studio album The New Classic.
The Longomba Brothers were an award-winning music duo of smash hits including “Vuta Pumz”, “Dondosa’’, “Piga Makofi’’ and ‘’Shika More’’, among others.
The celebrated dynamic duo enjoyed an illustrious music career in Kenya both under Ogopa DJs label and their imprint Bad Man Camp, alongside other pioneering voices of popular Kenyan music of the 2000s. They included Deux Vultures, Mr Googz, and Vinnie Banton.
The Longombas’ sound was perfected by a blend of contemporary Hip Hop with a tinge of Soukous heavily borrowing from their Congolese roots.
The duo hails from a musical family as their father Lovy Longomba senior was a member of a Congolese band Super Mazembe. Awilo Longomba who is a France based Congolese musician is their uncle.
