  • Citizen TV’s news anchor Lulu Hassan on Sunday, April 4, posted a warning to Kenyans over a possible job scam which is tied to one of Citizen TV’s latest shows Zora.

The celebrated news anchor shared a viral post alleging that there is ongoing recruitment of actors for the Zora Show that recently premiered on Citizen TV.

“Do not be duped, conman,” The Swahili news anchor cautioned.

The poster alleges that the Zora Show is looking for actors and actresses who will be paid approximately Ksh 14,000 per week.

It further shows that applicants should send their names, locations, gender, age, tribe, and pictures to the number provided.

The poster also indicates that once the applicants have paid money, they are guaranteed an acting role in the Zora Show, something that Lulu has vehemently disputed.

She identified the name behind the scam as a man calling himself Sonko LAB.

The post asked applicants to send Ksh1,300 to stand a chance of landing an acting role in the show.

However, Lulu said that any communication about such recruitment can only be done through official channels, and made public by people like directors and producers of the said shows.

She asked Kenyans to be wary of such deceptions at a time when joblessness is rife among the youths.

Unemployed individuals have often pounced on such opportunities not knowing that they are being swindled.

Job-seekers easily fall for elaborate schemes orchestrated by crooks who disguise themselves as legitimate employers.

It is therefore advisable for anyone seeking employment to verify the carefully crafted messages meant to drain the pockets of unemployed individuals before making any viable decisions.
