Jubilee Secretary-General is celebrating a special milestone he has achieved since he was involved in a grisly accident that left 18 of his bones broken.

Jubilee Party communications officer Polycarp Hinga, in a statement on Sunday, May 2, revealed that Tuju had successfully trekked for 50 kilometers.

The CS without portfolio noted that it was miraculous he could hit such a milestone considering that he was on life support at some point in 2020.

"God is Great. Considering where I was last year, I can only thank God. Thank you for your support and prayers as I went through the trauma of the accident," stated Tuju.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the CS was seen taking boisterous steps while clad in a white T-shirt, a pair of black below-knee shorts, blue running shoes and a green reflector Jacket. He was walking on a rocky hill.

Tuju was involved in a grisly accident on February 12, 2020, while on his way to the late Daniel Moi’s funeral in Kabarak.

Photos from the accident, which occurred at the Magina area on the Nakuru-Nairobi highway, showed a poorly damaged car.

He was airlifted from the scene to Karen Hospital for specialised treatment before he was flown to the United Kingdom.

In March that year, in a press conference, he disclosed that he was put on life support after his lungs collapsed and he had 13 broken ribs.

"My lungs collapsed because I had 13 broken ribs and doctors had to make the life and death decision by removing the life support system so that I would go for specialised treatment in London," he stated.

Since getting back onto his feet then, Tuju continued nursing injuries and in February 2021, he confirmed that over 18 bones had been broken in his body.

"I thank God as I am improving. I broke18 bones, 17 have completely healed only one is not yet. I am still struggling with it, however, I believe that I am doing better," he stated at the time.
