Gatundu South MP and People's Empowerment Party (PEP) leader Moses Kuria was conspicuously missing during a meeting between Deputy President William Ruto and Raymond Kuria.

Raymond was a PEP candidate for the upcoming Kiambaa by-elections before Moses Kuria and the DP came to an agreement of fielding a UDA candidate John Njuguna Wanjiku.

"Yesterday I held extensive discussions with my boss and friend H.E Dr William Ruto on this matter. For the unity of the Hustler Nation, PEP will not be fielding a candidate for the Kiambaa by-election," the Gatundu South MP had announced.

On Tuesday, Raymond and a team from Kiambaa constituency met the DP at his home in Karen. Notably, Kuria was missing.

Yet again, on May 21, 2021, the Juja parliamentary MP-elect George Koimburi met with the DP without the company of Kuria.

Koimburi got a landslide win in the Juja by-elections on the PEP candidate. The legislator was credited with the triumph as he led the Juja election.

Kenyans.co.ke contacted Kuria for a comment on the same but he declined.

Despite the agreement on the fronting of one candidate, Kuria acknowledged that there was bad blood between him and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa.

"PEP's message of hope. and renewal has been endorsed by the voters of Gaturi Ward in Muranga on 15th December 2020 and Juja constituency on 18th May 2021. We wanted to present this message for approval by the people of Kiambaa Constituency on the 15th of July. However, this did not go down very well with my colleagues particularly Rigathi Gachagua and Kimani Ichungwa.

"I take this opportunity to offer my profuse apologies to Hon Raymond Kuria, the people of Kiambaa and all PEP members who undoubtedly will be disappointed with this decision," Kuria stated.
